The "Symfony ofWorld Leaders" is a 5 part symphony for a large symphony orchestra with large batterysection (including piano), a saxophone section, a (too loud) interrupting local brassband, a pianist´s mobile phone and a pianotuner.
Part 1 is a symphonic poem based upon "La ciudad de prodigios" by Eduardo Mendoza: the young Onofre Bouvila moves from the countryside to Barcelona where he starts to work at the World Exhibition Buildingsite and gradually grows into a succesfull businessman ruling a vast empire.
Part 3 depicts the "Don Corleone" character in a Mahler pastiche
Part 4 depicts the "Jean-Baptiste Grenouille" character from "Das Parfum / The Perfume" by Patrick Süskind
Part 5 depicts the "Schlögl Corpus Garcka" character. The music includes George Ives' Danbury Brass Band and a pianotuner.
Epilogue: as part 5 is rather hectic (quite an understatement), a (non-mandatory) soothing epilogue can be added to easy the listeners´ mind.
